'The Weathervane' is the second song in Schubert's 'Winter Journey' Song cycle. ' Winterreise'. This is usually sung by old men although it is supposed to be sung by young men and is not half as grim as it sounds.

This is possibly my last project as I like the girl in the story am approaching that final date with the grim reaper and I should like to finish this cycle before I go. I have another 20 to go a I have done just 4. I feel like Proust who took to his bed to get his book finished. I am doing it every Friday. No one will look but that is the way it goes.

This one The Vane is one of my favourites. So modern and so bitter. This is just a draft but I thought you might like to see how it progresses and I am pleased with it already. I am just going to fill it all in and go from there. Then I shall finesse.

These songs are some of the best and every singer should have a go.
