Description
Built right at the end of the Victorian era in August 1899, Caledonian Railway No. 828 is a unique survivor of a class of locmotives which once numbered 96, and is equally important as an example of a pre-Grouping Scottish Locomotive: there was no Scottish equivalent of the fabled 'Barry Scrapyard'.
Restored to steam in 1996, Number 828 is the flagship locomotive of the Strathspey Railway. They are well worth a visit:https://www.strathspeyrailway.co.uk/
