Hello :)

This is the requested transcription I did of the Banda Black Rio song "Mr. Funky Samba'" from their 1977 album "Maria Fumaça". The bass player on this track was Jamil Joanes.

If you're up for a bit of challenge and like Brazilian jazz fusion music. This is a good one!

There's 3 spots where they put in a 5/8 bar. It scared the life out of me when I was transcribing it. I thought, how in the world am I going to play that? But it actually comes pretty quick. I didn't even try counting it. I just tried to stay focused and read the rhythms. Plow through and around beat 3 in the next bar it gets back on track.

I just love the rhythms and what he plays at bars 64 - 66. Very nice playing (imo). He's a really nice player!
