Description
As part of our ongoing mission to build community through collaborative music-making, LiveConnections commissioned percussionist Arturo Stable to write music for percussion and strings, drawing on traditions from his native Cuba.
"El Fénix Negro" premiered on February 24, 2017, at our partner venue World Cafe Live, performed by Harlem Quartet and Arturo Stable. The commission is part of our ongoing "New Sound of Philadelphia" project, commissioning Philadelphia-based composers to write boundary-crossing new music.
