Description
A spin-off that ran longer than its source, 'Benson' (1979) transplanted the sharp-tongued butler from 'Soap' into a head of household for a Governor. He moved up the political ladder eventually becoming Lt Governor, and the series finale was election night of a contest for Governor between Benson and his former boss. That was the cliffhanger that ABC asked for, but then decided to cancel the show. The theme music is by Witt/Thomas/Harris standby George Aliceson Tipton. Over the years there were cast changes reflected in the clips included here, plus you can watch Missy Gold grow up:
